Sister Parish, who died in 1994 set out to create interiors that were “personal, comfortable, friendly and gay.” She said about her own work, “I’m not an authority, I know nothing—nothing! It’s just that I have a knack. I’ll say, ‘I want a pinch here’ or ‘I want a pull there.’ ”

In the attached photo Parish-Hadley designed a colorful formal living room in 1984 for Robert and Oatsie Charles’s Washington, D.C., residence.

Sister Parish’s granddaughter has recreated and is now selling her line of fabrics and wallpapers. We will have access to them so call us!
